This is a compact unit with a height of 12.75 inches and a maximum width of 5.25 inches. It is a good choice for deep and farmhouse sinks.

The grinding components of Waste King L-111 are made of galvanized steel. Its grinding chamber is made of corrosion-resistant, high-quality plastic. In addition to the reset button, it also comes with an unjamming wrench. In case of a jam, you can unjam the disposal by moving its rotor to and fro with the help of this wrench. There is a hex hole at the bottom of the disposal unit to insert this unjamming wrench.

3. Whirlaway 191

Whirlaway is also part of the Waste King family. Both brands are owned by the company Fortune Brands. It is possible that all these three models are using the same motor but I am not sure.

Whirlaway 191 is a continuous feed-type garbage disposal built with galvanized steel grinding components and a corrosion-resistant grinding chamber. With a height of 12.75 inches and a width of 5.25 inches, this is a compact unit suitable for deep sinks. It uses an EZ mount assembly for installation. It has a removable splash guard and a reset button on its front-facing side.

Just like Waste King L-111, it has galvanized steel grinding components and a corrosion-resistant grinding chamber. This garbage disposal is covered under a 2-year limited warranty.

4. InSinkErator Badger 1

InSinkErator is a well-known brand in the USA for its reliable and advanced line of garbage disposals. Badger 1 is the cheapest garbage disposal by this company. It comes with a 1/3 horsepower induction motor that runs at 1725 RPM. This is a continuous feed-type garbage disposal with galvanized steel construction and a space-saving compact design. The disposer measures 11.5 inches in height and around 6.5 inches in width.

I think GX50C is the most sold garbage disposal by Moen due to its low price but premium-level features. In terms of power, the GX50C is very similar to Waste King L-2600. It uses a 3-bolt assembly for mounting, but its splash guard is removable. To make the installation easier it comes with a preinstalled but removable power cord.

10. Moen GXP50C

Though GX50C and GXP50C look different, when it comes to features and specifications these two models are very similar. The GXP50C uses the same 1/2 HP motor as the GX50C. It also uses the same 3-bolt mounting assembly, and it is also a continuous feed type of garbage disposal.

The features of this unit are very similar to the aforementioned Kuppet 1/2 HP model. It comes with a multi-stage grinding system where the food wastes undergo three stages of grinding. This 3-stage grinding helps to reduce the food wastes to small particles and thus prevents any clogs and jams. This also helps to process fibrous food items.

The unit is also much quieter than normal garbage disposals thanks to the layers of noise insulators it uses. Also, the 3-bolt assembly helps to reduce vibrations to some extent. This garbage disposal unit uses stainless steel grinding components to give it longevity.

Things to look for when buying a cheap garbage disposal

Build quality

The main thing compromised in cheap products is their build quality. To reduce cost most cheap garbage disposals are made of cheap materials. The longevity of a garbage disposal depends on the quality of its grinding components and grinding chamber. Grinding components made of stainless steel lasts longer than those made of galvanized steel, and there are a few models given above which has stainless steel grinding components, so they are a good option. As for the grinding chamber, the plastic chamber is proven to withstand corrosion, so no worries there.

Warranty

Longer warranties are an indication of better quality and longer life. No manufacturer will give a long warranty for their products if they are likely to run into problems. But before you buy, make sure to go through the terms and conditions of the warranties, because some warranties also cover the installation, and repair charges while some others do not. Often the labor charges exceed the cost of the garbage disposal unit, so this is an important thing to look for while buying.

Quietness

Cheap garbage disposals do not come with any noise insulation to reduce costs. But some models do have them. I won’t say noise would be a major issue since you are going to run a garbage disposal for like 2 minutes but for some people it is important. However, it is hard to believe that good noise insulation can be implemented in cheap garbage disposals so please put reliability first.

Grinding power

There are many cheap 1/3 and 1/2 HP garbage disposals but only one model each for 3/4 and 1 HP. If you want more grinding power definitely go for a 3/4 or 1 HP model.
